Teak wood, also known by its botanical name
Tectona grandis, is a structural timber species which grows mainly
in the tropical environments. It thrives only in the area presenting
of the dry and wet seasons distinct. The tree grows quickly, on
the favorable sites to reach a height up to 45 meters.Its growth
rate depends on several factors, including the quality of its environment,
quality of topograghy, drainage, ground and seed, as well as temperatures,
moisture, and precipitations tropical.The regenerating life of the
teak trees is excellent. Teak is a hard and heavy tree with a rough
bark extremely durable and resistant to the moisture and the effects
of drying of the exposure to time thanks to substantial oil contents
which allow teak wood to be naturally protected from the insects,
the bacterial diseases, the termites and fires of forest.
Teak is remarkably flexible, doing of him
one of the structural timber most required in the world. The principal
uses of teak are parquet floors, boats of prestige, and the beautiful
pieces of furniture for indoor and outdoor. Teak is the only wood
which does not support rust or corrosion when it is in contact with
oxydable metals.
